Upper Face
Frown lines/ Glabella lines (between eyebrows)
These are the vertical lines that appear between the eyebrows, making you look tired or angry! But don’t worry, Botox can fix this! An experienced practitioner can subtly smooth these frown lines, resulting in a rejuvenated and more relaxed appearance. In case of deep glabellar lines, combined treatment with both Botox and fillers or threads is recommended to achieve both filling of the creases and relaxation of the muscles. To learn more about this, check our page on Wrinkle Treatments.
Forehead lines (surprise lines)
These lines appear on the forehead when your eyebrows are raised. As you age, they become more apparent. Excessive lines in this area can give the face and skin an aged appearance. In case of deeper wrinkles, a combination of both Botox and filler injections may be recommended.
Bunny lines
These are the creases that appear when the nose wrinkles up; for example, when we sniff or smell something. The careful placement of Botox injections at either side of the nose can reduce the appearance of these lines. However, it is crucial that an experienced practitioner administers the injections, since your smile can be affected if they are not carried out properly.
Eyebrows/hooded eyes
On younger faces, the brow is well supported and its position above the eye remains high. However, with aging, the brow drops, giving the eyelid a ‘hooded’ appearance which creates horizontal folds in the surrounding skin. The procedure used to correct the hooded eyes is called “chemical brow lift” or ‘Botox facelift’. This technique used to lift the eyebrows to give you the desired shape. Our experienced practitioner can perform this technique by placing injections in a careful combination of areas on the upper face to open up the eye area and lift droopy lids. You can learn more about Eyebrow lift here.
Around the eyes (crow’s feet)
These are the wrinkles present at the outer corners of your eyes. Crow’s feet that can be seen even when you’re not smiling is often associated with aging. However, Botox is very effective in reducing these wrinkles giving you youthful eyes.
Under the eyes
Although it is possible to smooth fine creases underneath the eyes using Botox, the area must be approached with caution. The muscle that is injected is the same muscle that partially controls the lower eyelid; therefore if too much is used, or the injection is placed incorrectly, it may lead to a drop of the lower eyelid. With our experienced practitioner, no need to worry; you are in good hands.
Mid-Face
Smoker’s lines
These are the fine lines around the mouth that become more apparent with age or cigarette smoking. Many muscles in this area are used when we smile and for other facial expressions. Botox can be used to help turn the corners of the mouth up and improve a person’s smile, this is may be combined with fillers injection for better results.
Gummy smile
The smile is one of the most defining characteristics on a person’s face, but when it displays features that are considered unappealing; the smile can cause many social difficulties. If you have an excessive gingival display, or a “gummy smile”, you might be feeling self-conscious about the way your smile looks. And although many dentists and orthodontists offer treatments to relieve a gummy smile, many of these procedures are surgical and therefore very invasive and expensive. But no worries, with the use of two or more injections on either side of the mouth, we can relax the muscles on the face that causes the gummy smile, and the lips can begin to cover up the gums, thereby creating a more aesthetically appealing smile.
Lip borders (Lip pop)
With age, we start losing some of the lip volume gradually along with loss of lip border definition. Lip Pop is a procedure designed to give you that sexy, pouty, fuller lip that every woman wants. If you are wishing for a fuller lip but not ready for fillers yet, you will love our Lip pop procedure
Droopy Nose
Do you feel like the tip of your nose droops down when you smile or laugh? This is a common problem that results from an active muscle at the base of the nose. The good news is that we can relax this muscle woth one injection of neuromodulator and this will keep the tip of your nose up all the time!
Lower Face
Frown Smile (Droopy corners of the mouth)
Do people think you look sad when you are not? This might be because of droopy mouth corners that can give a frown smile or upside-down smile. One of the contributing factors may be over activity of a muscle referred to as the DAO (depressor anguli oris). Injection of a carefully calculated amount of a neuromodulator in that area will relax that muscle and bring the corner of the mouth into a more neutral position. Sometimes, we have to use fillers too if volume loss is a contributing factor in this problem.
Chin (puckered chin)
Dimpled or puckered chin occurs due to an overactive mentalis muscle which usually occurs with aging. This effect is exacerbated by tissue or bone loss and sun exposure. Botox can be used to relax these muscles, thereby smoothing and reducing the overall dimpled effect giving you a beautiful youthful chin.
Jawline and neck
Lines and wrinkles can develop on the neck as we age due to a number of factors, including; genetics, the effects of gravity on the skin, weakened collagen and overworked facial muscles. Botox can be used to smooth the neck in a procedure known as the ‘Nefertiti lift’. It is effective at relaxing two types of lines around the neck:
Horizontal creases which normally occur with aging process. These lines can be reduced by injecting small amounts of Botox above and below the wrinkles all the way around the neck.
Vertical creases which usually occur in people especially those who exercise a lot. Those people develop cord-like vertical bands on their neck called the Platysmal Bands that are particularly apparent when they speak. These bands, which are caused by the platysma muscles, strengthen and grow through years of eating, straining and general tension in the jaw. The muscles extend from the top of the chest to the lower jawline and can be more apparent when you talk or smile.
Jaw angle/ Masseter muscle (Face slimming)
An enlarged masseter muscle can result from prolonged episodes of teeth grinding and jaw clenching, known as bruxism. This can be a purely cosmetic issue since the face becomes wider (square face), or it can cause pain in the TM joint (chewing joint). When injecting this muscle with Botox, the muscle will relax an the face will look slimmer. This can also help with bruxism and TMJ pain.
